Inspired by the extraordinary 1914 Imperial Mosaic Egg created as an Easter gift from Tsar Nicholas II to Empress Alexandra Feodorovna, this elegant design reflects one of the most technically sophisticated masterpieces of the Imperial series. The original egg was designed by Alma Theresia Pihl and produced in the workshop of Albert Holmström, featuring an intricate platinum mesh resembling delicate petit point embroidery or mosaic tapestry.

The authentic masterpiece was set with diamonds, rubies, sapphires, emeralds, topazes, garnets, and pearls, forming a seamless openwork pattern crowned with a moonstone finial and the Tsarina’s cipher. Its surprise was a miniature portrait frame containing sepia enamel likenesses of the imperial children. Confiscated in 1917, the egg was later sold in 1933 and purchased by King George V, and it now resides in the British Royal Collection.

Echoing that refined heritage, this beautifully detailed interpretation opens to reveal a portrait style frame inside, framed by luminous enamel and sparkling crystal accents. The hinged design secures with a magnetic closure and stands gracefully on its decorative base, offering historic inspiration and timeless elegance in a collectible heirloom style piece.
