Ensi rugs were produced by nomadic tribes with locally obtained materials, wool from their herds, and natural vegetable dyes. These nomadic tribes used these rugs as covers to the doors of their tents. The geometrical designs that are featured in these rugs, while overall similar to one another, vary from tribe to tribe.
