The Original Briwax

History & Heritage

In 1860, Henry Flack began manufacturing polishes and blending waxes in East London, crafting products for the finest cabinetmakers and woodcarvers of the era. After World War II, production moved to Beckenham, Kent, and in 1961, J.W. Bollom & Co. Ltd. acquired the company. Since its discovery, Briwax has been trusted by craftsmen worldwide to protect, restore, and recondition fine furniture and antiques to their original patina — a finish once achievable only through laborious hand rubbing. Today, Briwax continues to serve professional woodworkers, refinishers, and homeowners dedicated to preserving quality furnishings.
