3x5 District of Columbia State Flag For Sale

The Washington D.C. state flag has three red stars, called mullets, above two red bars sitting on a field of white. The flag was crafted after George Washington's coat of arms.

The flag was designed by Charles A.R. Dunn, a painter for a printing company, who was inspired by the state flag of Maryland which he found beautiful and distinctive. Washington D.C. went many years without an official flag until October 15, 1938 Dunn's flag was officially picked to be the state flag. Dunn wrote "I think it is a good flag, and I am glad that an early dream of mine came true."
