Stitch Irises after Van Gogh, a counted cross stitch kit by Luca-S — Vincent van Gogh's famous garden of deep blue irises with one white bloom, swaying among twisting green leaves above red-brown earth and a strip of orange marigolds. The whole design is fully stitched, just like the dense brushwork of the original.

A little stitcher's folklore: Van Gogh painted his irises in the garden of the asylum at Saint-Rémy in 1889 and called painting his 'lightning conductor'. Stitchers say the single white iris is the one you'll remember.

Why this kit: a true museum masterpiece to stitch and hang at home, and a fantastic long project for art lovers. The rich blues and greens make it a joy to work.

Kit includes: 18-count Zweigart Aida (100% cotton), Anchor 100% cotton threads in 38 colours, a needle, a symbol chart and instructions. A frame and hoop are not included.

Work the chart block by block from one corner, stitching the dark blue petals and green leaves as you go; with full coverage, a colour-by-colour approach within each 10×10 block keeps it tidy.

Finished size: 42.5×34 cm (16.7×13.4 in). A famous painting in thread for the living room and a wonderful gift for Van Gogh fans.
