Stitch Life's Simple Pleasures, a counted cross stitch kit by Bothy Threads — two fluffy sheep sit side by side among little flowers and butterflies beneath the words 'Me and ewe'.

A little stitcher's folklore: Swaledale sheep are the emblem of the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Why this kit: based on original artwork by Lucy Pittaway, it uses woolly Lana threads for soft fleeces. It includes an alphabet so you can change the lettering.

Kit includes: 14-count white Zweigart Aida, pre-sorted stranded cottons, Lana woolly thread, a needle and a clear stitch diagram and instructions with an alphabet for personalising. Stitches used: cross stitch, back stitch and one French knot. A frame is not included.

Stitch the sheep and flowers in cross stitch, chart your lettering from the alphabet, then add the back stitch and French knot.

Finished size: 18×12 cm (7.1×4.7 in). A sweet small gift for a partner or friend.
