Stitch Little Lamb, a greeting card cross stitch kit by Bothy Threads — a lamb sleeps in a woven crib under bunting that reads 'Congratulations on your little lamb'.

A little stitcher's folklore: 'Mary Had a Little Lamb' was one of the first things ever recorded, when Thomas Edison recited it into his phonograph in 1877.

Why this kit: based on artwork by Draw UK for Cockadoodle Cards by Draw, it comes with an A5 card mount and an alphabet for the baby's name.

Kit includes: 16-count antique white Zweigart Aida, pre-sorted stranded cottons, an A5 cream card mount and envelope, a needle and a clear stitch diagram and instructions with an alphabet for personalising. Stitches used: cross stitch, back stitch and French knots. The card mount frames the finished stitching, so no extra frame is needed.

Stitch the lamb and crib in cross stitch, add the lettering and bunting in back stitch and the French knots, then personalise and mount it.

Finished size: 10×16 cm (3.9×6.3 in). A keepsake card to welcome a new arrival.
