Stitch Remember Me, a greeting card cross stitch kit by Bothy Threads — tall red poppies nod on slender stems while a bumblebee drifts past.

A little stitcher's folklore: the poppy's link with remembrance began with John McCrae's 1915 poem 'In Flanders Fields', written after the flowers bloomed across the battlefields.

Why this kit: based on artwork by Hannah Dale of Wrendale Designs, it includes an alphabet and number line to add a name or date.

Kit includes: 16-count Zweigart Aida printed with an exclusive speckled background, pre-sorted stranded cottons, a cream triple-fold card mount and envelope, a needle and a clear stitch diagram and instructions with an alphabet and number line for personalising. Stitches used: full cross stitch, back stitch and French knots. The card mount frames the finished stitching, so no extra frame is needed.

Stitch the poppies and bee in cross stitch, add the stems and outlines in back stitch and the French knots, then personalise and mount it in the card.

Finished size: 10×16 cm (3.9×6.3 in). A thoughtful card for remembrance, sympathy or a gardener's birthday.
