Scalpel Lapel Pin

The first known description of a surgical knife comes from the great Greek physician Hippocrates, but evidence of the use of blades in medicine has been found from as far back as the Mesolithic period about 10,000 years ago.  Our scalpel pin is hand cast in solid, lead-free pewter and then dipped in copper.  The surgeon pins have a US made, military style clasp back to keep your pin secure on a white coat, scrubs, name badge, or lanyard.  A scalpel, or lancet, or bistoury, is a small and extremely sharp bladed instrument used for surgery, anatomical dissection, and sometimes crafting.  Gift to your team of surgeons or to your favorite biologist, our knife pins arrive packaged on our signature presentation cards, making them ready for gift-giving!
