Stitch Snowy Street, a counted cross stitch kit by Bothy Threads — three Victorian townhouses in blue, cream and red brick are dressed with wreaths and garlands under a covering of snow.

A little stitcher's folklore: Queen Charlotte set up a Christmas tree at Windsor in 1800, decades before Prince Albert made them fashionable.

Why this kit: based on original artwork by Sally Swannell, it is a large, detailed festive street stitched on ice blue Aida.

Kit includes: 16-count ice blue Zweigart Aida, pre-sorted stranded cottons, a needle and a clear stitch diagram and instructions. Stitches used: full cross stitches, back stitch and French knots. A frame is not included.

Stitch the houses in cross stitch from the centre, then add the back stitch and French knots.

Finished size: 35×31 cm (13.8×12.2 in). A festive centrepiece to bring out every December.
