Travertine is typically found in warm, earth tones with neutral hues such as white, tan, brown, and cream-colored.
On the contrary, Granites come in vibrant colors and unique natural patterns depending on the composition of minerals fused together.
Marbles are generally found in a range of colors, like granite. Usually, they are retrieved as a light-colored rock with a crystalline appearance. Depending on the impurities like clay minerals, iron oxides, and other materials, it can be bluish, gray, pink, yellow, or black.
Maintenance
Travertines being naturally porous, are prone to damage from spills that will leave permanent staining. Hence, require resealing about every 3-4 months with periodic dusting.
In comparison, Granite is considered a low-maintenance stone. It is recommended to dry-mop your granite floors on a daily basis. This will keep the dust and dirt from accumulating on the tile.
Marbles being hard and durable, need periodic maintenance. Using mild ph neutral dish soap or specially formulated marble cleaner is recommended for marble tiles cleaning.
